The internet is a very busy place, busy to an unfathomable degree. Google, the predominant search platform everywhere, hosts over 60 petabytes worth of information; that’s over 60,000 one-terabyte hard drives! This site, and the domains to come, are just a teeny-tiny-itty-bitty-little fraction of that. If, dear reader, you are someone who perhaps stumbled across this page through mere happenstance, I applaud you. That is a tremednously difficult thing to acheive—Monty Python levels of falling down rabbit holes. Whatever the case, you’re here now, be you someone I know or not. How then, you may be asking, is this space different than the hundreds of millions that already exist? My goals for this site are two-fold: a one-stop-shop for everything related to my assignments for DGST, but it is also to be a nexus for all of my hobbies. If an employer comes poking around, I want them to have access to the full gamut of my personality’s odds and ends. Between blogs posts and various other forms of media, my intent is that anyone visiting is able to form a rough image of who I am. Easier said than done, but I suppose the very nature of this class is to help us get to that point. Once that’s complete, then the vision of the site would be too. I’m not going to ramble about who I am in this post, as I don’t think that’s condusive to a good experience. I shouldn’t have to tell anyone, they should just get it through what they see. So, for those reading, strangers or not, I ask of you this: if you want to know more, then follow the site as it develops. Spilling my life story removes the mystery, and dimishes the point of this whole experiment. Anyone’s website is an extension of themselves, and their finger prints are all over it. Poke around enough, and maybe you’ll find mine.
Until then, au revoir.
